COUSANCE goes international
In 15 years, the Festival has travelled through all the communes of the “Sud-Revermont” area. Thanks to its success, the entire festival will be held in Cousance for logistical reasons. We plan to stage small one-off events in all communes of the federation of local councils in the future.
The town of Cousance has been hosting the Revermont Jazz Festival for 15 years. We've been admirably supported by previous councils and of course the current council. Their assistance with personnel, provision of venues, facilities and equipment have ensured the success of the Festival. This has been done without ego or personal interest, the sole aim being to bring culture to a disadvantaged area (a long way from cultural centres) and showcase the town of Cousance.
On behalf of myself and the entire “Jazz en Revermont” team, and our audiences, I would like to thank the mayors and their councils for all the hard work they've put in. This year, we'll benefit from the latest changes to the car parks and the various facilities around the Gymnasium.
The 16th Festival will this year have a special focus on children. The “Sud-Revermont” federation of local councils awarded us a grant (before the merger), meaning we can invite children from the four school groups in the Beaufort area to a morning session of the JAZZOO show.
This year, we also want to open the festival to original compositions And a special event : the creation of the Jazz en Revermont Big Band which will bring together French and international musicians as Frank Tortiller who gave us so much pleasure last year.
We have expanded our team with new recruits, so many thanks to them, but we also need more new blood. We'd be delighted to have you join us.
Last year, 1,500 fans came to applaud our shows and 2,000 people were impacted by this event.
I'm willing to bet that we'll do even better this year. Prepare your ears, practice your clapping and come join us from the 5th of October.
And long live JAZZ!
